Particia Anne »Tish« Murthas Photographs are in the tradition of documenting the British working class, first described in detail by Charles Dickens in his social novel “Oliver Twist”. Tish Murtha photographed the »Quite normal« Life on the streets in her neighbourhood in the late 70s and early 80s. She wanted to show how police officers beat up young people, as she said in her interview for a place to study photography and was subsequently accepted by the university by return of post. A photo documentation on the occasion of the 100th anniversary. birthday a legend, with photographs and an essay by Benjamin Ochse. The »White city« in Tel Aviv has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2003. Over 4,000 buildings were designed by Bauhaus students who fled from Europe to Palestine. The Bauhäusler’s idea of combining architecture, art and craftsmanship fitted in with the dream of a new, better society. Only a few houses still look as they were planned and built, numerous buildings were demolished or left to decay, other buildings were rebuilt or extended. Hildegard was allowed to travel to the USA for a year in 1952 with the help of a scholarship. In the summer, she embarked on the ocean liner SS United States from Le Havre in France, bound for New York. The photo exhibition is part of a project to reappraise the history about the Workshop for Photography (1976–1986) in Berlin-Kreuzberg, with C/O Berlin, Museum Folkwang Essen and the Sprengel Museum Hannover.
